The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) has initiated an investigation against the IT company Cogno Scio AB concerning its potential credit information activities and their compliance with the applicable legislation.

The investigation, initiated based on information available on the Cogno Scio AB website, aims to determine whether the company carries out credit information activities requiring authorization. If so, the IMY will verify whether the company has the legal basis required by the credit information law. The authority will also examine whether the company processes personal data relating to criminal offenses and whether this processing complies with the provisions of the credit information law as well as the GDPR. Initially, the IMY has requested the company to provide additional information about these activities.
