The Portuguese authority brings together ANACOM and ERC to coordinate the application of the Digital Services Act
The Portuguese data protection authority, the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD), held a meeting with the National Communications Authority (ANACOM) and the Regulatory Entity for Social Communication (ERC) regarding the application of the Digital Services Act.
The meeting, held on 14 July 2026, followed the entry into force of Law No. 12-A/2026 of 15 April, transposing Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, known as the Digital Services Act (DSA). The objective was to establish communication channels and institutional coordination to ensure effective application of the regulation. Discussions also focused on possible joint initiatives that the CNPD, ANACOM and ERC could develop within their respective competences as competent authorities for the application of this regulation.
