The Polish Personal Data Protection Authority (UODO) announces the organization of a webinar on September 30, 2026, about the challenges related to the application of artificial intelligence in the context of data protection.

This webinar, entitled "From the AI Regulation to national regulations. New challenges for personal data protection," is jointly organized with the Social Expert Team at the President of the UODO. It will address the position and role of the authority in the national artificial intelligence oversight system, as well as the issues to analyze before deploying such systems. Discussions will focus on legal solutions ensuring the authority's independence, its cooperation with the Commission for the Development and Security of Artificial Intelligence (KRiBSI), and its powers to respond to privacy violations, such as those related to deepfakes.

The webinar will be particularly aimed at data controllers and data protection officers by clarifying compliance requirements under the GDPR and the AI Regulation, conducting risk assessments according to these two frameworks, and the support offered by regulatory sandboxes. A second part will be dedicated to presenting initial question lists, a tool developed to help entities prepare for the use of artificial intelligence. The origin, development method, and use of these lists will be detailed, including recent changes and elements still under development by the expert team.
