The Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, announced its participation in several debates during the Arendalsuka 2026 event, addressing various data protection issues.
On August 11, a legal advisor from the authority will take part in a debate organized by the federation of archives and the Aust-Agder museum and archives. The discussion will focus on reconciling the right to erasure under the GDPR with the mission of archives to preserve documents for legal certainty, research, and democratic oversight, including when the information is sensitive.

On August 12, a special advisor from Datatilsynet will speak at a conference organized by KiNS on the public sector's dependence on cloud services for critical functions. The exchanges will address governance and coordination in the face of increasing threats and new European requirements such as the Critical Entities Resilience (CER) directives and the Network and Information Security (NIS2) directive.

On August 13, the acting communications director will represent the authority in a discussion organized by the bar association. The debate will focus on the absence of a global and legally secure system for electronic identity management in Norway, and the need to adapt technological solutions to the legal framework and legal certainty.
