The Latvian authority publishes a dedicated section for monitoring the Artificial Intelligence Regulation
The Latvian Data Protection Authority, the National Data Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcijas - DVI), has launched a new section on its website dedicated to the supervision of the Artificial Intelligence Act.
This new resource aims to help the public, businesses, and institutions understand the European Union's Artificial Intelligence Act, which sets uniform rules for AI systems based on their risks. The section will be gradually updated with explanations about the law and its application. A first article, titled "What is Artificial Intelligence?", is already available and clarifies the difference between an automated program and an AI system, while addressing the reliability of generated information, risks to individuals, and the protection of personal data. The authority is committed to regularly enriching this content.
