The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) has had its educational materials on data protection awarded a quality label by the Federation of German Consumer Organisations (vzbv).
The lesson series entitled "What is data protection?" has been included in the vzbv's "Materials Compass," where it was rated "very good" by independent experts based on its technical quality, didactic relevance, and design. Developed in collaboration with Carlsen Publishing, these materials are aimed at students from fourth to seventh grade. They aim to teach fundamental concepts related to personal data, privacy, search engines, secure passwords, informational self-determination, as well as social networks and cyberbullying. The materials, available free of charge as worksheets and teaching notes, can be used in digital or printed format.
