The European Union and Ukraine Strengthen Their Cooperation in Cybersecurity during the 5th Cyber Dialogue

The European Union and Ukraine have deepened their cooperation in cybersecurity during their fifth Cyber Dialogue.

In a context marked by the Russian aggression war and Ukraine's EU accession process, discussions focused on aligning Ukraine with European standards, such as the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act. Exchanges also covered operational cooperation, crisis management, cyber defense, combating cybercrime, and implementing the 5G cybersecurity toolbox. The parties discussed capacity building, notably through the Tallinn Mechanism, and promoting responsible state behavior in cyberspace.

On the sidelines of this dialogue, an administrative arrangement was signed between the Cybersecurity Service for the institutions, bodies, offices, and agencies of the European Union (CERT-EU) and the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSSCIP). This agreement aims to initiate an information exchange between CERT-EU and its Ukrainian counterpart, CERT-UA, to enhance mutual capabilities for preventing, detecting, and mitigating cybersecurity incidents.
