Debate on the Opportunities and Risks of Artificial Intelligence in Polish Municipalities
The Polish Data Protection Authority (UODO) participated in a debate on the opportunities and risks related to the use of artificial intelligence within local administrations.
During the 6th Forum of Polish Cities, held on September 16 and 17, 2026, the vice-president of the UODO emphasized that while AI can improve services to citizens and automate processes, especially in small municipalities, its deployment raises crucial questions. He stressed the need to ensure adequate standards for the protection of personal data, respect for privacy, and information security. The debate aimed to explore how to wisely use AI in Polish municipalities, addressing the challenges related to the new national AI policy towards 2030.
