The Czech authority publishes recommendation no. 1/2026 on camera systems in the healthcare sector
The Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ) has published its recommendation no. 1/2026 concerning the use of video surveillance systems by healthcare service providers.
This document was developed in response to feedback on a general methodology related to the design and operation of video surveillance systems. These comments highlighted the need for specific guidelines for the healthcare sector, whose particularities could not be integrated into the main document. The final version of the recommendation, dated August 10, 2026, was published after incorporating contributions from a public consultation and having been formally approved.
