Central European data protection authorities' leaders received by the President of Slovenia to discuss data protection challenges

Representatives of Central European data protection authorities were received by the President of Slovenia to discuss current data protection issues.

During the meeting of Central European data protection authorities, held in Ljubljana from 14 to 16 September 2026, representatives from the authorities of Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Czechia, and Hungary exchanged views with the Slovenian President. Discussions focused on challenges related to rapid digitalization, the development of artificial intelligence, and the widespread use of digital services. Particular emphasis was placed on the protection of children and minors, notably through age verification mechanisms. The authorities stressed the need for solutions ensuring effective protection while minimizing privacy intrusion, and all agreed that close cooperation at national and European levels is essential.
