The Austrian authority publishes a new working tool for bodies subject to the information obligation under the Freedom of Information Act
The Austrian Data Protection Authority (DSB) has published a supplementary document to its guide on the Freedom of Information Act (IFG), which came into force on 1 September 2025.
This new working tool, entitled "IFG Update - Data Protection Aspects for Bodies Subject to the Information Obligation - Focus on Case Law," is intended to guide bodies subject to the information obligation in handling cases related to this law. It provides a summary of case law issued between 1 September 2025 and 30 June 2026, detailing decisions related to data protection. Designed as a step-by-step practical guide, it aims to serve as orientation during the initial phase of the law's application.
