The Polish data protection authority (UODO) has secured the integration of awareness about the risks related to deepfakes into the primary school teaching program.

Following a proposal from the president of the UODO, the Ministry of National Education amended a draft regulation on the general education curriculum to include the study of threats related to deepfakes. This measure will concern students in grades 4 to 6 and will be integrated into health education courses, under the section "Internet and addiction prevention." The program will address cyberviolence, online hate, hate speech, the dissemination of deviant content live, internet and gaming addiction, phishing, identity theft, dangerous online contacts including grooming and blackmail, as well as the risks and benefits of artificial intelligence and virtual reality (VR). The president of the UODO justified his request by the democratization of AI-based tools, which represent a growing threat in terms of disinformation, manipulation, fraud, and identity theft.
