The CNIL presents the 2026 updates to reference methodologies MR-001 and MR-003 during a webinar

The National Commission on Informatics and Liberty (CNIL) presented the updates to reference methodologies MR-001 and MR-003 applicable to the health sector.
The new versions of these reference methodologies have an expanded scope to include the needs expressed by stakeholders in the sector. The updates notably concern studies conducted abroad, the modalities of informing data subjects including by electronic means, the nature of data that may be processed, remote quality control as well as the recipients of the data. Formally, the RMs adopt an updated structure and are accompanied by new documents such as annexes dedicated to security and quality control, annotated versions, and compliance grids. These changes were detailed during a webinar organized by the authority on June 2, 2026.
