The Austrian authority announces the 2026 priority audits on processing security and transparency
The Austrian Data Protection Authority (DSB) has announced its priority audit program for the year 2026, which will take place in two distinct phases.
The first phase, with procedures starting in March 2026 against selected controllers and processors, will focus on processing security. The audits will concentrate on compliance with Article 32 of the GDPR, including risk assessment and the documentation obligations provided for in Article 30 and Article 35 of the GDPR.
The second phase of audits, announced in June 2026, aligns with the Coordinated Enforcement Framework of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB). It will be dedicated to the transparency and information obligations under the GDPR and will be combined with a questionnaire derived from this European initiative.
